今日(きょう)は、ベトナム・ハノイについて書(か)きます。

I went from the capital of Laos, Vientiane, to Hanoi, Vietnam by a night sleeper bus.
ラオスの首都(しゅと)ビエンチャンから、ベトナムのハノイに夜行寝台(やこう しんだい)バスで移動(いどう)しました。

でも、約(やく)25時間(じかん)も掛(か)かりました。
It was the first time I had been on a bus so for long.
こんな長(なが)いバス移動(いどう)は、初(はじ)めてでした。
And I was surprised by the motorbikes, as I expected.
そして、ベトナムに来(き)てビックリしたのは、やはりバイクの台数(だいすう)ですね。
There really are a lot of them.
本当(ほんとう)に、たくさん走(はし)っています。
They're more popular than cars there.
こちらでは、車(くるま)よりも、バイクがポピュラーです。

I met a local vietnameese friend in Hanoi.
ハノイでは、現地(げんち)の友達(ともだち)に会(あ)いました。
And she guided me around the city.
そして、ハノイの街(まち)を案内(あんない)してもらいました。
She took me around the sightseeing spots, which I really enjoyed.
観光地(かんこうち)に連(つ)れてっていただき、すごく楽(たの)しかったです。

Then, I rode on the back of her motorbike. lol
彼女(かのじょ)のバイクの後(うし)ろにも乗(の)せてもらいました(笑)

ハノイの旧市街(きゅうしがい)は、かなり入(い)り組(く)んでいます。
Eventually, I couldn't memorize the way.
結局(けっきょく)、道(みち)を覚(おぼ)えることができませんでした。
There are various stores all crammed together.
色々(いろいろ)な、お店(みせ)が所狭(ところせま)しと並(なら)んでいます。
There are a lot of Western backpackers there.
欧米人(おうべいじん)のバックパッカーも多(おお)かったです。
And I felt they are mostly American or British, native English speakers.
また、ベトナムでは、アメリカ人(じん)やイギリス人(じん)などの、Native English Speakerが多(おお)く感(かん)じました。
In Thailand and Laos, though, most tourists seemed to be French.
.タイやラオスはフランス人(じん)が多(おお)かったですが。
