Kazakhstan's Price of Commodity

This information is when I was in Kazakhstan on October, 2012.
Today, I'm going to write about Kazakhstan's price of commdity.

訪問した都市は、アルマティ・シムケント・トルキスタンです。
I visited Almaty, Shymkent and Turkestan.

Shymkent, Kazakhstan ⇒ Tashkent, Uzbekistan

2012年10月にカザフスタン・シムケントから、ウズベキスタン・タシケントへ移動したときのこと。

Today, I'm going to write about when I went to Tashkent, Uzbekistan from Shymkent, Kazakhstan on October, 2012.

In Shymkent, Kazakhstan

朝、シムケントのホテルをチェックアウト。市バスでサマル・バスターミナルへと向かいました。

バス代 50KZT(≒30JPY)

 I checked out in my hotel then I took local bus to Samal bus terminal.

The bus fare is 50KZT(≒0.3USD)

10分くらいでサマル・バスターミナルに着。
その辺の人に聞いてウズベキスタン行きのバスを教えてもらう。
でも実際には、このバスは国境まででした。
タシケントまでの国際バスはないらしいです。

I got Samal bus terminal spending about 10 minutes.
And, I asked someone who told me which bus is bound for Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
But actually, that bus is going to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan border.
I think there aren't working international bus going to Tashkent, Uzbekistan at present.

バス代は忘れてしまいましたが、そんなに高くはなかったと思います。
たしか、200KZT(≒120JPY)~500KZT(≒300JPY)くらいでした。
国境には2時間くらいで着。

I forgot the bus fare it's not so expensive. I think it costs 200KZT(≒1.3USD) to 500KZT(≒3.3USD).
And, I got the border spending some 2 hours.

At Border

カザフスタン国境の前で、ウズベキスタン・スムへの闇両替が出来ます。
カザフスタン・テンゲ, アメリカ・ドルどちらも可能です。
カザフスタン出国は問題なく完了。滞在登録の用紙をチェックしてました。

You can exchange Kazakhstani Tenge and United States Dollar for Uzbekistani Som that's black exchange rate.
I depart from Kazakhstan coming along smoothly and they check my "Registration".

Kazakhstan Border

ウズベキスタンも特に問題なく入国できました。
悪い噂も聞きますが、荷物チェックも所持金チェックもありませんでした。
ただ、入国用紙はロシア語表記で、それに所持金・電子機器を申告する必要があります。
係員で英語を話せる人は1人だけでした。

I could enter Uzbekistan easily.
I've heard bad rumor about immigration officer who sometimes tend to obtain bribe from foreign traveler.
Fortunately, I didn't show my all things and my wallet.
But, do we have to declare funds and electrical equipment in immigration card which notation in Russian.
By the way, I thought officer who can speak English is only 1 person.

Uzbekistan Border

In Uzbekistan

とりあえず、タシケント駅を目指す。
実は、このウズベキスタンを最後に1度日本へ帰ることにしました。
なので、タシケント駅から、最初にウズベキスタンの南方面へ移動することにしました。

国境付近はやはり熱心な客引きが多かったです。
「タシケント駅まで40USDで乗せてくよ」などなど。

探しましたが、どうやらタシケント駅までの直通の交通手段はなさそうでしたので、とりあえず乗り合いバスに乗車。 1500UZS(≒0.5USD)

For the present. I'm going to go to Tashkent station.
As a matter of fact, I'm going to go back to Japan temporary from Uzbekistan at last.
So I will go to Tashkent to buy ticket going to Southern Uzbekistan to begin with.

I thought there're enthusiastic taxi drivers by the border.
One of the guys said "I give you a ride to Tashkent station that costs 40USD" things like that.
Actually, it costs really expensive. They want to try rip-off.

I looked for how to get the station cheaper than their driving, but there're not directly transportation to Tashkent station.
I haven't confidence that now there're convenient any transportation to center of the city or not.
As a resuly, I took a local bus which costs 1500UZS(≒0.5USD).

駅まで直通ではないので、駅の方向を聞き途中下車。
ここまで、ドライバーがうざかったことと、駅までどの位かかるかわからないこと以外は順調。
ちなみにドライバーは英語が話せませんでした。

That bus is not directly going to the station so I stopped over.
So far, it's smooth except for the driver is annoying me and I don't how far from here to the station.
Incidentally, that driver couldn't speak English.

ここで、困ったときのiphoneアプリ。
Nothing can be done about it so, using iphone application.

でも、たまたま話かけた人が英語を話せる人で現在地を特定できました。
どうやら、タシケント駅へは近くの駅から地下鉄で行けるそうです。
感謝を伝え最寄駅の"Beruni 駅"へ。

Fortunately, I asked someone who can speak English so I could know where I am.
They told me, I was near a subway station then so I should take the subway then get to Tashkent station.
So I said thank you to them then going to nearest "Beruni"station.

地下鉄駅にて切符を購入 700UZS(≒0.3USD)
地下鉄は一律料金。
また、実際には切符ではなく、タイや台湾のようなトークンでした。

改札を通る前に荷物チェック有り。
外国人なので、パスポートの提示を求められました。

車内で Lonely Planetを読んでると、現地の人に英語で話しかけられ、色々教えてもらいました。
以外と英語が話せる人が多い!?気がしました。
で、やっとタシケント駅に着。

I bought ticket it costs 700UZS(≒0.3USD).
Subway fare is uniform here.
And actually, it's not ticket. They're using "Token" it also same style in Bangkok, Thailand and Taipei, Taiwan.

I showed my baggage to police when I pass by the gate.
And, we have to show our passport.

When I was taking the subway and reading Lonely Planet, I was spoken to local people in English. She told me about Tashkent and things like that.
I thought there're remarkably many English speaker in Uzbekistan!?
At length I reached Tashkent station.

Shymkent, Kazakhstan's Accommodation

2012年10月にカザフスタンのシムケントにいたときのこと。

This post is when I was in Shymkent in Southern part of Kazakhstan on October, 2012.

結局、ホージャ・アフマド・ヤサヴィー廟には3時間くらいの滞在で、シムケントに戻り宿を探すことにした。

"Lonely Planet"によると、街はずれに1500KZT(≒880JPY)で"Hotel Turist"というところがあるそうですが、疲れていたので中心地で探す。

多分 "Hotel Turist"も値上がりしてると思います。

Ultimately, I stayed Mauseloum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi for 3 hours then got back to Shymkent and looking for an accommodation.

According to "Lonely Planet", there is "Hotel Turist" it costs 1500KZT(≒10USD) per night on the fringe of a city. However, I was exhausted then so I looked for another one downtown.

I think "Hotel Turist" cost is increasing.

They don't have any internet connection.

The Single Room

高い!!!
カザフスタン全体に言えることですが、安くて快適な宿はなさそうです。
TVもエアコンも冷蔵庫も必要ないのに。

でも、せっかくだったので、エアコンはがっつり使いました。

物価が高いからかバックパッカーはカザフスタンには全然いませんでした。

It costs so expensive isn't it?!
We can apply this to all Kazakhstan's accommodations there're not so cheap it but also uncomfortable.
I don't need to use TV, A/C and fridge.

But I paid big money here so I used A/C almost all day.
I think Kazakhstan comodities of price is expensive than other Central Asian countries so there're a little backpacker in Kazakhstan.

ロケーションだけは良かったです。
オルダバス広場に面したところにあります。
バザールにも近いです。でも、スーパーや飲食店は少なかった。
なので、1泊だけして、翌日ウズベキスタンのタシケントへと行くことにしました。

Only there location is good.
The hotel is faces Oldabasy ploshchad.
It also by central bazar but supermarket and restaurant is a few.
So, I stay here 1 night here and I decided to go to Tashkent, Uzbekistan next day.

Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in Turkestan, Kazakhstan

2012年10月にカザフスタンにいたときのこと。
This post is when I was in Kazakhstan on October, 2012.

アルマティからシムケントへ夜行列車で行き、そのまま世界遺産のホージャ・アフマド・ヤサヴィー廟のあるトルキスタンへと向かいました。
I went to Shymkent in Southern Kazakhstan from Almaty by night train then going to World Heritage Site of Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in Turkestan at same day.

シムケント駅前から92番のバスでサマルバスターミナルへ。 50KZT(≒30JPY)
で、サマルバスターミナルからシェアタクシーでトルキスタンのバスターミナルまで。
1000KZT(≒600JPY)
トルキスタンまでは片道約3時間でした。
ところで、その廟の情報を全然持ってなかったので、全荷物を背負って行きました。
No.92 bus is bound for Samal bus terminal from station front. It costs 50KZT(≒0.3USD).
And, to Turkestan from the bus terminal by share taxi which costs 1000KZT(≒6.6USD).
Takes about 3 hours to cover the one-way distance between Shymkent to Turkestan.
By the way, I didn't know exactly about the mausoleum so I brought all my things to go there.

で、トルキスタンのバスターミナルからホージャ・アフマド・ヤサヴィー廟までは乗り合いバスで約10分くらい。料金は50KZT(≒30JPY)くらいだったと思います。忘れました。

Then, I took share bus to Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi from Turkestan's bus terminal. Taking the bus about 10 minutes then you can get there. I forgot that fare which may costs about 50KZT(≒0.3USD).

This is the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi

I've never seen such the great Islamic architecture, this is for the first time in my life.

カザフスタンにおける世界遺産第1号で2003年に指定されたそうです。
見た感じ変哲はないですが、未完成らしいです。
ちなみに入場料は無料。
内部は入場できますが、撮影禁止。
外国人観光客は2，3人くらいでした。
現地の方がたくさん来ていました。

It's Kazakhstan's first site of patrimony, declaring it a World Heritage Site in 2003.
It looks like perfect but it's an unfinished mausoleum.
You can enter the inside but there is not allowed photography.

For your information, there is free of charge.
I saw a couple of foreign tourists there.
Most of all visitor are local people.

このあと、ウズベキスタンに行きましたが、この廟は、また違った良さがありました。

After Kazakhstan, I visited Uzbekistan they have simillar Islamic architecture however this mausoleum have different good point so I felt good to come here.

Almaty ⇒ Shymkent (in Kazakhstan)

2012年10月にカザフスタンにいたときのこと。
This post is when I was in Kazakhstan on October, 2012.

アルマティからシムケントへと寝台列車で移動。
運賃は3500KZT(≒2080JPY)でした。
I move to Shymkent from Almaty by sleeper train that cost is 3500KZT(≒23USD).

4人1室のコンパートメントでした。
Train leaves at 17:20. You have to show your passport when you take the train.
I took 4 beds compartment.

で、翌日の朝7時にシムケント駅に着。
アルマティに比べて、すごい寒かったです。
Then I could arrived in Shymkent the next day's at 7 O'clock.
Compared to Almaty, Shymkent is really cold that time.
